A world of opera comes to the Faenol Stage on Saturday 25 August. Joining Bryn Terfel this year will be Spanish Verdi baritone Carlos Alvarez. He and Bryn met while performing together in Falstaff in Vienna some years ago and he's been on Bryn's wish list for the festival ever since.
Welsh soprano Rebecca Evans has had to pull out at the last moment and is replaced by Korean Ha-Young Lee, the audience favourite at the 2005 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. The line-up is completed by dynamic young English mezzo soprano Christine Rice who is currently enjoying great success at the Royal Opera House, and Italian tenor Fabio Armiliato who sang with Bryn in Tosca at Covent Garden and has performed in famous opera houses all over the world.
Announcing his name, Bryn said: "It's going to be a powerful night of music, and gives us the flexibility to do solos, duets, quartets and quintets that we've never been able to present on the Faenol stage before."
